STEAMedge

STEAM empowerment for EDucators through sustainability and the use of emerginG tEchnologies

_ Description

STEAMedge Academy addresses the goals of the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies by building strong European partnerships in teacher education and aligning with key EU policies, including the Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027) and Council Recommendations on digital education, school success, and digital skills provision. It also supports the priorities of the STEM Education Strategic Plan (2025), focusing on interdisciplinary, inclusive, and sustainability-driven STEM teaching. By integrating AI, IoT, and drones into STEAM learning and promoting equity and innovation, STEAMedge contributes to improved teacher training, access, and system-wide transformation in line with EU priorities.

The project places particular focus on three key target groups:

  • Pre-service and In-service Secondary teachers, including students from STEAM-related faculties (future teachers) and teachers in active service, who will participate in learning pathways, training, mobility activities and community of practice activities
  • Teachers’ trainers from educational Institutions, such as higher education institutions, teacher training centres, schools, and teacher associations. These stakeholders will actively participate in the development, testing, and refinement of frameworks, training resources, and innovative teaching methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Policymakers and Community Stakeholders, including education authorities, STEAM networks, technology providers, and environmental organisations. These groups will be involved through Communities of Practice and policy roundtables to ensure that STEAMedge generates sustainable change across systems.
