On 4^th and 5^th April 2023, the partners of the TEGA – Training the Educators to facilitate the teaching and assessment of abstract syllabus by the use of serious GAmes European project, met in London, hosted by London South Bank University (LSBU), project coordinator. During this last Transnational Partners’ Meeting (TPM), the project outputs and deliverables were reviewed and the work plan for the preparation of the final project report was set.

Specifically, during the TPM, Mr Joel Balkwill presented a series of good practices related to the SPIRAL community activities. Additionally, various cases of game-based teaching were presented by Mr Dan Barnard, Dorota Uptas-Tworek and Mark Winter, professors at LSBU. The interactive application that was developed for the TEGA Toolkit, was presented by Mr. Theodor Smith, student at LSBU.

The DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), project partner, participated in the final TPM and was represented by Mr. Rizos Chaliampalias, Researcher of DAISSy and Ms. Vicky Maratou, Project Manager and Researcher of DAISSy, who presented the TEGA Community of Practice online platform.

The TEGA project was completed on the 18th April 2023 and its main objective was to develop a game-based teaching strategy to change traditional pedagogical practices in Higher Education. This approach is expected to improve the academic skills of lecturers in Universities, as well as the learning process of their students.

All TEGA deliverables are available on the project’s website, specifically on the Results page. The DAISSy-HOU developed the TEGA Community of Practice online platform, which facilitates the creation of a pan-European network of people who develop games and implement game-based educational practices. It is worth noting that the participation in the TEGA Community of Practice is free of charge and can be done through a simple registration. In this way, each registered member is then able to freely navigate through the platform’s information and educational material, to participate in communications with other members and to download materials.

TEGA was a thirty-month project, co-funded by the European Union, under the Erasmus+ Programme, Strategic Partnerships in Higher Education, Key Action 2. It was implemented by a consortium of four (4) Universities from four (4) countries (UK, Lithuania, Portugal, Greece) with the DAISSy Research Group of the HOU being the Greek partner.
