The info-day of the “DigiGreeNPost: Towards a more Digital and Greener Postal Era” European project, was held with great success and attracted the interest of 154 employees of the Hellenic Post (ELTA) from all over Greece. Specifically, it was organized by the Education Department of the ELTA, with the support of the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), Greek project partner, and took place at the premises of the Postal Service in Kaissariani (45 Adrianopouleos str, Kaissariani district- Athens, Greece) with the participation of 23 participants in person and 131 online. The main purpose of the event was the presentation of the DigiGreeNPost project and its deliverables and results to date, in the context of the digital and green transition of post offices, towards their sustainable development.
The launching speech was delivered by Mr. Evangelos Makris, Project Manager, representative of “AKMI”, project Coordinator, who presented the three phases of the DigiGreeNPost training programme, that is the training of trainers (phase 1), the training of employees with theoretical and practical part (phase 2) and the certification process (phase 3).
Subsequently, Mr. Markos Tsipouras, Project Manager of DAISSy-HOU, Professor of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Western Macedonia, presented the DigiGreeNPost electronic platform for the creation of Individual Learning Accounts (ILAs), which was developed by the Research Group, and also highlighted the importance of microcredentials in the development of employees.
Then, Mr. Aris Maragakis, representative of ELTA, Greek partner, presented DigiGreeNPost and analysed in depth the various components of the project, related to the digital transformation and the sustainable green growth.
It is noteworthy that the Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE) is an associated organization of the DigiGreeNPost project, adding value by contributing to the implementation of actions in the areas of digital transformation, security and privacy of communications. ADAE was represented at the event by its executives, Irini Gavala, Head of the Directorate of Postal Privacy Assurance, and Eleni Varvarousi, Head of the Department of Regulatory Framework, New Technologies and Applications Monitoring.
DigiGreenPost is a three-year, innovative training project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. It is implemented by AKMI as Coordinator and the consortium includes thirteen (13) Organisations (Postal Operators, Vocational Training Centres, Accreditation Bodies) from six (6) European countries, with DAISSy-EAP as a Greek partner. The project is designed exclusively for the employees of the European Postal Services and aims at the acquisition of certified digital as well as environmental (green) knowledge and skills. In particular, upon successful completion of the training programme, trainees will have the opportunity to participate in the “Digital” and “Environmental” certification exams for obtaining the “DigiDreeNPost Dual Certification (ISO/IEC 17024)” certificate.
