The DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) is the sole Greek partner in the consortium of the International Master Program in Social Innovation entitled “Training and Education in Social Innovation – Transnational Master (TESI-TN Master)”. The main purpose of the TESI-TN Master is the training of a new generation of Social Innovation Executives capable of designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative social interventions and policies.

Active role of DAISSy-HOU at the EPIDA international meetings in Sibiu, Romania

The first major Multiplier Event of the “Entrepreneurial and Innovation Proficiency: A Way to Digital Agenda-EPIDA” European project, targeting the dissemination of its initial results, was successfully concluded at the Centrul de Reuniune Academică in Sibiu, Romania. It was perfectly matched with the Transnational Partners’ Meeting (TPM) focusing on the progress of the EPIDA implementation and the evaluation of the progress development, so far. The events were organised on 23rd and 24th June 2026 and were hosted by the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romanian partner, bringing together academic representatives from (5) five European countries (Bulgaria, France, Greece, Romania and Albania) to advance digital transformation, social innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education.

DAISSy Research Group of the HOU launches the implementation of AIOS project

The “AI-Driven Open Science: A Curriculum for Research and Innovation (AIOS)” European project is a new initiative under the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, aiming at strengthening Open Science through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). DAISSy-HOU being the technical project partner, contributed decisively to the formulation of this innovative pedagogical approach, which bridges theory and practice. This comprehensive scientific document lies at the heart of all project activities and is now ready to support educators in integrating the “4Cs” (Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity) skills into daily school reality.

DAISSy-HOU honors the “World Youth Skills Day”

In 2014, the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) designated 15th July as “World Youth Skills Day”, aiming at highlighting the strategic value of skills essential for young people in their pursuit of employment, decent work, entrepreneurship and social participation. At the same time, it pinpoints the importance of access to affordable and quality education for all, against discrimination or gender inequalities.

DAISSy-HOU leads the evaluation of the DigiCLASS beta testing phase

The “Digital Competence Levels Assessment in School Education – DigiCLASS” Erasmus+ project, currently undergoing by the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), as the Greek partner, is taking a major step forward with the launch of its early beta testing phase. This milestone marks the first practical deployment of the project’s tools in eight (8) selected secondary schools across Austria, Italy and the Aragon region in Spain, paving the way for the full implementation of the DigiCLASS pedagogical approach.

DAISSy-HOU honors the “International Day to Combat Hate Speech”

On the occasion of the launch of the “United Nations (UN) Joint Strategy on Hate Speech” (May 2019), in 2021 the same Βody designated the “International Day to Counter (or Combat) Hate Speech” to be celebrated annually on June 18.

The DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) recognizes hate speech as a severe type of discrimination and works systematically over time to combat it through targeted actions. Typical examples of such successful actions in recent years are important European co-funded projects, where DAISSy-HOU participated as the only Greek entity in international consortia.

Indicative example is the “LEAD-Online: Learn, Engage, Act: Digital Tools to Prevent and Counter Hate Speech Online” project, where DAISSy-HOU was responsible for the development of the “Hate Out!” Game and the “Hate Speech Self-Assessment Tool” innovative digital tools, regarding increasing awareness on the level of conscious or unconscious use of online hate speech as well as teaching ways to report it, deal with it and support its victims.

Respectively, the “GenderED Coalition – A cross-country coalition against gender disinformation for equitable societies”, European project which aimed at creating a safer, fairer digital space, combating gender disinformation and integrating a gender perspective into “Media and Information Literacy”. Within this framework, a coherent Community of Practice (CoP) was created, strengthening broad synergies, which led to online campaigns, succeeding in raising awareness and attracting the interest of thousands of internet users.

Special reference also deserves the “Advanced Media Literacy Education to counter online hate-speech (AMeLiE)” European project, that addressed the issue of online hate speech and due to its achieved impact is presented on the official results platform of the Erasmus+ European programme as a good practice. Through the educational program and the AMeLiE platform, hundreds of teachers benefited, thousands of students participated actively in the project’s activities, and schools were interconnected and utilized the project’s methodology implementing dozens of relevant informative campaigns and disseminating such initiatives.

DAISSy-HOU, recognizing that combating hate speech is a collective responsibility and a basic prerequisite for ensuring social cohesion, democratic participation and respect for human rights, remains firmly committed to addressing it through the development and support of initiatives that promote equity and constructive dialogue, both in the digital and physical sphere, towards its vision for an inclusive society.
