The first major Multiplier Event of the “Entrepreneurial and Innovation Proficiency: A Way to Digital Agenda-EPIDA” European project, targeting the dissemination of its initial results, was successfully concluded at the Centrul de Reuniune Academică in Sibiu, Romania. It was perfectly matched with the Transnational Partners’ Meeting (TPM) focusing on the progress of the EPIDA implementation and the evaluation of the progress development, so far. The events were organised on 23^rd and 24^th June 2026 and were hosted by the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romanian partner, bringing together academic representatives from (5) five European countries (Bulgaria, France, Greece, Romania and Albania) to advance digital transformation, social innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education.

More precisely, the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), Greek partner, joined the Multiplier Event on social innovation and digital transformation, and was represented by Professor Christos Pierrakeas, Senior Researcher at DAISSy. He played a prominent role, since he was a featured speaker, delivering an insightful presentation on “Innovation capacity building and digital ecosystems in HoU and DAISSy research group” (in Session I) to showcase HOU's digital readiness, followed by a comprehensive overview on “Social and Solidarity Economy in Greece: Institutional Framework and Key Developments” (in Session II). In addition, Professor Pierrakeas actively contributed to an Interactive Panel Discussion alongside local social entrepreneurs and NGO representatives from Romania, Austria, and Germany, and exchanged on the university support for digital start-up ecosystems.

Moving forward on the EPIDA project implementation, the focus now shifts to Greece, as the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University has officially taken on the responsibility of hosting and coordinating the EPIDA midterm dissemination event which will take place in Athens on 17 September 2026.

It is noteworthy, that the EPIDA project aims at fostering sustainable business models within the social economy using digital tools while supporting the development of students’ innovation and entrepreneurial skills. In parallel, it strengthens digital readiness and resilience, and promotes common values, civic engagement, and active participation among higher education teachers, researchers, and students.

EPIDA is a 30-month project (01/09/2025 - 29/02/2028) co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. DAISSy-HOU is actively involved across all EPIDA work packages, having the responsibility for coordinating the Circular Learning Mobility of students and trainers (Task 3.1).
