The DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) participated in the 2nd Transnational Partners’ Meeting (TPM) of the “ADMIT – Generative AI and LLM in Higher Education” European project, which was held on 12th & 13th November 2025, in Rome (Italy) and was hosted by Università Telematica Internazionale UNINETTUNO, Italian partner. The meeting brought together the whole ADMIT consortium, DAISSy-HOU being the Greek partner, and aimed at strengthening collaboration and joint planning, taking into account that the final year of the project’s implementation is ahead.
DAISSy-HOU was actively involved in the TPM and was represented by Achilles Kameas, Professor at HOU and Director of DAISSy, Vassiliki Takouli, Project Manager and Senior Researcher at DAISSy as well as Loukas Triantafyllopoulos, Researcher at DAISSy. They joined all TPM sessions, made interventions and contributed to a thorough exchange
The first day of the TPM focused on monitoring project progress and reviewing the contributions of each partner. More precisely, the discussions addressed the current practices in European Universities using ChatGPT and other Generative AI tools, the needs of educators, students, and institutional leaders for the effective and responsible integration of AI. Emphasis was put to the development of a shared European framework for meaningful AI adoption in teaching and learning, as well as planning the next steps and aligning priorities for the project’s final implementation phase.
During the meeting, Loukas Triantafyllopoulos and Vasiliki Takouli delivered a short piloting session on the self-assessment tool, a deliverable of the ADMIT project, developed by DAISSy-HOU. Participants engaged in hands-on testing of the tool, providing valuable preliminary feedback that will guide its further refinement and validation.
Furthermore, the second TPM day featured an intensive peer-learning workshop dedicated to shaping the ADMIT training programme on “Teaching and Learning with GenAI in Higher Education”, where the partners analysed real examples of AI use in University environments, exchanged experiences from different European contexts, and also transformed emerging findings into concrete ideas for training modules targeting teachers, support staff, and institutional leaders. The workshop emphasized on the need for flexible, accessible, and practical training that supports the responsible use of AI across European higher education.
The ADMIT partnership is proud, since several major outputs are being finalised, aiming at providing Universities with clear and practical guidance for integrating AI responsibly. Namely:
- A framework for effective AI use in Higher Education
Guidelines for understanding when AI tools can enhance teaching and learning—and when limitations or safeguards are necessary. - Practical guidelines for ethical and responsible AI use
User-friendly recommendations addressing fairness and transparency, prevention of misuse, academic integrity & responsible implementation in university settings. - A European collection of AI use cases in universities
A curated set of promising practices demonstrating how AI supports student learning, feedback, assessment, and course design. - New open CPD modules for educators and leadership
Training units offering practical activities and resources explaining how generative AI works and how it can be used both in the classroom and online.
The ADMIT consortium completed the 2nd TPM and reaffirmed its commitment to producing practical solutions that support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in adopting AI in a pedagogically sound, transparent, and ethical manner.
ADMIT is a three-year project (01.01.2024 – 31.12.2026) funded by the European Union’s “ERASMUS Lump Sum Grant” program. It is coordinated by EADTU (Netherlands), and the consortium consists of twelve (12) partners from ten (10) European countries (UK, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Netherlands, Turkey, and Finland). The DAISSy Research Group of HOU ensures the effective implementation of project activities in Greece, while also connecting relevant national stakeholders to maximize the utilization and impact of the ADMIT project results.
